Privacy Policy
Yazboz Guru keeps score for card, tile and dice games and for sports. We built it to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, and your games stay on your phone unless you choose to share or back them up.
Who is responsible
Yazboz Guru is made by Goal Guru, the controller of the data described here. Contact: support@goalguru.live.
Data that stays on your phone
Your games, scores, players, groups, saved rules, badges and settings are stored only on your device (and on your Apple Watch, for the games in progress). We never see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
iCloud backup (Premium)
If you turn on iCloud backup, a copy of your games and players is saved in your own iCloud Drive, in a folder only this app can use. Apple stores it under its own privacy policy; we have no access to it. You can turn the backup off and delete it in the app or in your iPhone's iCloud settings.
Tournaments you share
If you share a tournament, its name, the players' names and the scores are uploaded to our server, so that people with the tournament's code can see it. When someone signs up for a shared tournament, the name they enter is stored there too.
- Only people who have the tournament's code can see it. Tournaments can't be searched or listed.
- Only the phone that created a tournament can change it. Deleting the tournament in the app deletes it from the server.
- How long: tournaments are deleted from the server automatically 14 days after their last change. The organiser can delete a tournament at any time, and people who signed up can withdraw while sign-ups are open. After a deletion, only the tournament's code is kept for a year, so that the code isn't given out again.
Games you share live (Premium)
If you share a game live, the game's name, the players' names, its rules and the scores are uploaded to the same server, so that people with the game's link or code can follow the score on their own phones.
- Only people who have the link or the code can see it. Shared games can't be searched or listed. Only the phone that shares a game can change it, and "Stop sharing" takes it offline at once.
- How long: a shared game is deleted from the server automatically 7 days after it ends, or after 3 days without a change.
- People watching can add the finished game to the history on their own phone; that copy stays on their phone.
Keeping shared content clean
Names in shared tournaments and games pass a word filter, and the number of tournaments, games and sign-ups from one network is limited. For this the server keeps, for at most one day, a code made from the network address with a salt that changes every day, never the address itself. Like any web service, the server may briefly log technical details such as IP addresses to keep the service running and secure. If you see an inappropriate name, report it with the Report button on the tournament or game page, or write to us.
Anonymous usage statistics (only if you agree)
After the welcome tour the app asks whether you'd like to share anonymous usage statistics; nothing is sent unless you say yes, and you can change your mind any time in Settings › Privacy.
- Sent: the kind of game opened, ranges for players and rounds, the rules chosen, the app and iOS version, and a count of app errors.
- Never sent: names, scores, anything you type, device identifiers or location.
- The statistics are processed by Aptabase on servers in the EU and can't be linked to you.
Ads (free version)
The free version shows a full-screen ad after some games (never in the first three). Ads are provided by Google AdMob.
- In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice first; you can change it any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices.
- Ads are requested as non-personalised and limited to general audiences. The app never asks to track you (no App Tracking Transparency prompt), so the advertising identifier (IDFA) is never available to it.
- To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google collects information such as an app-specific device identifier, an approximate location derived from the IP address, which ads were shown or tapped, and diagnostic data. Google handles this under its own policy: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Premium has no ads, and no data is sent to Google for ads.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought and managed through your Apple Account. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your name, email or payment details. The app only learns from Apple whether a subscription is active.
When you write to us
If you email us or use Contact us, we receive your message and email address and use them only to answer you. We delete them when they are no longer needed, at the latest after two years.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the features above, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase: hosting for shared tournaments and games
- Aptabase: anonymous usage statistics (EU)
- Google: ads in the free version
- Apple: purchases, iCloud backup, and the App Store
Some providers may process data outside the EU; where they do, they use the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We don't sell data, and we don't use it to track you.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Sharing tournaments and games, and iCloud backup: to provide the features you choose to use (contract).
- The word filter, rate limits and server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe.
- Usage statistics and ads: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Answering your messages: our legitimate interest in helping you.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, ask us to restrict its use, object to it, or ask for a copy, and you can withdraw a consent at any time. Most of your data never leaves your phone, so deleting the app or a shared tournament or game removes it. For anything else, write to support@goalguru.live. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in the Netherlands, that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
What we don't do
No accounts, no selling of data, no tracking across apps or websites, no access to your contacts, photos or location.
Children
Yazboz Guru is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
