How to play Bluff: rules and scoring
- 52-card deck
- Dealt evenly
Goal: Be the first to get rid of all your cards.
Setup
- The player with the ace of spades, or whoever the table picks, starts.
How to play
- On your turn, play one or more cards face down and say what they are (e.g. “two sevens”).
- The ranks go up in order: aces, twos, threes…
- You don’t have to tell the truth.
- If anyone calls “Bluff!”, the cards are turned over.
- A liar picks up the whole pile, and so does the challenger if the claim was true.
Scoring
- The first to empty their hand wins the hand and scores 1 point.
- Alternatively, everyone else writes down the number of cards they still hold as a penalty.
Winning
The first to win the agreed number of hands (e.g. 5) wins; or, after the agreed number of hands, the lowest penalty wins.
