How to play Hearts: rules and scoring

• 3–6 players
• Lowest wins
• Ends at 100

Goal: Avoid penalty points hand after hand and finish with the fewest.

Setup

• The cards are dealt out evenly: with 3 players remove the 2♦, with 5 the 2♦ and 2♣, with 6 the 2♦, 2♣, 3♣ and 2♠.
• Everyone passes three cards before the hand; with four players: left, right, across, then no passing, and round again.

How to play

1. The two of clubs leads (the lowest club if it was removed).
2. Follow suit if you can.
3. Hearts can’t be led until broken.
